~ 2008 ~
The forecast was calling for some long overdue 70 degree temperatures so we were hankering to get out somewhere for some picture taking. Winterthur which is outside Wilmington Delaware came to mind so we packed our gear and made the 1-1/2 hour trip. This was our first time to Winterthur so we were not totally sure what to expect but we knew from their website not to expect acres of indoor greenhouse exhibits. Everything would be outside and in bloom at various times so we decided to purchase a membership and make several trips through the season. This webpage will grow through the season so stop in from time to time for the latest images.....

Couldn't resist taking some Infrared images....
Tech Notes: All of these images were taken "hand held" since we were not in the mood to carry our tripods this time around. The color images are a mix of Joe's and Kathy's. All of Joe's images were taken with a Nikon D80. Kathy's were taken with a Nikon D40. Both cameras were equipped with Nikon 18-200mm VR lenses. The infrared images were taken with a modified Nikon Coolpix 5400 point and shoot.
