Another milestone birthday and what better way to celebrate than going off somewhere.  But where?  From what we hear on the news, there are many travel bargains to be had.. right?  We couldn't find any so we decided to stay close to home and visit Ocean City New Jersey, a first for us. Initially we wanted a hotel right at the water but the $250++ nightly rates turned us off.  We ended up staying at a B&B (Brown Nostalgia) a couple easy blocks away from the boardwalk.

Fundamentally, we are not "beach" people.  Getting wet in the ocean and baking on a sandy beach are not favorites of ours.  The draw for us was 1) the potential for sunrise/sunset photography, 2) bike riding on the boardwalk, and 3) capturing some images of amusement park rides all lit up with colorful lights.  We brought our folding bikes along and rode them each morning at 6:30am before breakfast.  It was great!  Evenings were spent walking the boardwalk capturing those amusement park rides.  Sunrise was before 6:00am and, frankly, I was to lazy to get up in time for it.

We took about 100 images between us and offer a few of them here.  NOTE:  Clicking on some of these images will get you a larger view and the metadata in case that is of interest.  Images taken with a Nikon D60 are Kathy's.  Images with a Nikon D80 are Joe's.
